What changes when a South Korean driver goes abroad
South Korea is a contracting state to both road-traffic conventions — the 1949 Geneva Convention and the 1968 Vienna Convention. That is the widest position to travel from. Where it matters is at the edges: 35 of the countries we cover recognise only the 1949 Geneva form — Japan, United States, Rwanda among them — and 31 recognise only the 1968 Vienna form, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Central African Republic. Coming from South Korea you are on the right side of both lists.
And coming the other way. Visitors may drive on a valid IDP for up to one year; carry it with your national licence and passport.
